From the iconic leg lamp the the legendary phrase “You’ll shoot your eye out,” A Christmas Story, The Musical is truly fun for the whole family at Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The show opened Dec. 13 and runs through Dec. 29.

As part of its acclaimed Tenth Anniversary Season, Slow Burn Theatre Company has put together this epic show show sponsored by American National Bank and narrated by the talented Matthew Korinko.

Korinko plays adult Ralphie while the childhood version is impeccably portrayed by Michael Norman. This child actor pack some impressive vocals on tunes such as “Christmas Morning,” “It All Comes Down To Christmas” and “Red Ryder Carbine-Action BB Gun.”

Ralphie’s kid brother, Randy, who is played by the adorable Jaxon James, brings this pop culture-icon to life complete with the piggy-noise gobbling scenes and the snow suit where he can’t put his arms down.

Slow Burn Theatre Artistic Director Patrick Fitzwater helms the production as director and choreographer. The creative team features lighting designer Tom Shorrock, scenic designer April Soroko and costume designer Rick Peña.

Slow Burn Theatre continues to wow audiences with bold and entertaining productions.

I have brought my five year old son Jack along to see A Christmas Story, The Musical and Slow Burn Theatre’s previous production of Shrek and it’s truly wonderful to see a new generation of musical theater fans blossoming at every performance of this top notch theater company.

Don’t miss A Christmas Story, The Musical or you’ll shoot your eye out!
