Ah, the royals. Some people just can’t get enough of British Royal family. I am proudly one of those people. I have been following every detail of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding like a dance mom at a recital rehearsal. The newly deemed Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited 600 people to their lavish wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19 while the rest of us watched on TV. The power couple also invited a lucky bunch of 1,200 people to witness their wedding outside the chapel. Those 1,200 people received commemorative wedding gift bags packed with Meghan and Harry swag such as a ginormous gold wrapped chocolate coin with the couple’s initials, a Windsor Castle water bottle, a swanky container of shortbread, a magnet featuring the wedding date and the initials “H” and “M,” and a coupon to a local royal gift shop.
A few of those 1,200 spectators who received the bags have figured out they can cash in big time on the Markle-mark up effect. Yes, our American beauty has the ability to wear a tote such as the Everlane Day Market Tote in Cognac and have it sell out in a matter of minutes. Since Markle was spotted sporting the classic tote with her prince at the Invictus Games in September, the simple leather tote has been sold out and fans of it have been on a waiting list. According to Everlane.com, the bag will finally be back in stock May 30.
There is currently an official Harry and Meghan royal wedding gift bag going for more than $10,000 U.S. dollars on eBay right now! The listing has more than 1,600 watchers and with five days still left on this auction, there’s no telling how high the bids will go for a piece of royal wedding day history.
