2018 was a strange year for many of us. While it had its challenges like many years often do, it was also a rewarding year. My son Patrick Thaddeus was born on July 2, 2018 after a rollercoaster ride of a pregnancy. On Dec. 19, 2018, I got to see Hamilton at Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. The show has received more hype than a Kardashian product launch and the show is truly all that with a big of chips and a revolutionary pickle on the side.

Hamilton is the biggest musical to hit Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Everyone and I do mean everyone wants in and understandably so. Who wouldn’t want to be in “The Room Where It Happens?” While tickets to the musical of the century will set you back plenty of Benjamins, there is still a chance to see Hamilton for just two Hamiltons. That’s right…$20! And that lucky option is available through the Hamilton app.

I didn’t have newborn images taken of my first son Jack other than the photo shoot we had at the hospital the day after he was born. It’s something I regret and something I can never do over. I figured  “Oh, I’ll have time.” The truth is,

There are some duos throughout history who shaped American music. Sonny and Cher. Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Simon and Garfunkel. Lennon and McCartney. And then there was Rodgers & Hammerstein, who earned 34 Tony Awards, 15 Academy Awards, the Pulitzer Prize and two Grammy Awards and essentially paved the way for today’s musicals. Their classic comedic musical, The King And I, hit Broward Center for the Performing Arts Nov. 20 and runs through Dec.

When I was invited to a Thanksgiving play with my two young children, I was delighted and excited to take them to experience a little theater at such a young age. Some of my most treasured memories of theater are my grandparents and aunts and uncles taking me to Burt Reynold’s Jupiter Theater as a kid to see musicals. Festival of the Arts BOCA and PNC Arts Alive presented two free performances of “Tough Turkey in the Big City:  A Feathered Tale,” on Saturday,

Hamilton! The sheer mention of this perpetually sold out show about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton is enough to get our hearts racing as it comes to Broward Center For The Performing Arts Dec. 18-Jan. 20. Millennials to Baby Boomers and beyond are clamoring for tickets. Pretty much everyone I know is praying Hamilton tickets are their Christmas and Hanukkah gifts this year. People are sharing #HAMILTIPS on how to score tickets.

Few things in Boca Raton have remained the same since the early 80’s when my family moved there from Long Island, New York. I watched State Road 7 go from miles of endless strawberry fields to dozens of shopping centers and thousands of homes. As a very little girl in the ’80s, I remember going to the only Carvel in West Boca Raton, FL. It is still the only Carvel in West Boca Raton.
