When I was invited to a Thanksgiving play with my two young children, I was delighted and excited to take them to experience a little theater at such a young age. Some of my most treasured memories of theater are my grandparents and aunts and uncles taking me to Burt Reynold’s Jupiter Theater as a kid to see musicals. Festival of the Arts BOCA and PNC Arts Alive presented two free performances of “Tough Turkey in the Big City:  A Feathered Tale,” on Saturday,

I needed that “A” and most of the time, I got it. Now that I’m a parent, that same competitive spirit still exists in me. However, with a two-month-old and a four-year-old to manage with a full-time freelance writing career,

As soon as my son Jack was born in 2014, I remember getting annoyed whenever people would tell me “Enjoy every moment. It goes by so fast.” I would get angry at them and think to myself ‘Oh, yeah, right. I’m up all night. I’m covered in puke. Oh, wait, I just got peed on.’ But the truth is, four years have gone by in the blink of an eye. And while I will never miss getting puked or peed on,

El Toro Loco, FTI Torque, Grave Digger, Ice Cream Man and Xtermigator are some of the beastly monster trucks that will be roaring through South Florida for the first-ever Monster Jam dirt show at BB&T Center  August 11-12. The new show will require BB&T Center to be filled with dirt as 12-foot‐tall, 10,000 pound machines fly through the air.
