If you’re on the fence about whether or not to hire that photographer to capture the precious first days of your baby’s life, do not hesitate to do it. I didn’t have newborn images taken of my first son Jack other than the photo shoot we had at the hospital the day after he was born. It’s something I regret and something I can never do over. I figured¬† “Oh, I’ll have time.” The truth is, you don’t. The moment your child is born, that rollercoaster car you’re both in takes off on the track and never stops, ever again. When my son Patrick was going to be born, I could not wait to have his newborn photos taken. My dear friend Christine Boccia was kind enough to share her precious photography talent with us just days after Patrick was born. “They change so much, especially within the first few weeks,” Christine said. “It’s important to photograph them as early as possible.” I took her advice and I now have images I will cherish for the rest of my life. Now my baby Patrick is five months old. He looks nothing like he did in the earliest days of his life. His face and features and size are changing and growing daily. This is a behind-the-scenes shot of Christine capturing our precious memories.

Here are some of the incredible shots Christine caught with her lens during Patrick’s days-old shoot. You can see more of her work on her instagram page: Instagram.com/christinebocciaphotography
